Ok folks, I admit it. I am impatient. Very impatient.

but my last histology results too 35 days to come though for my 1st TURBT. And I am coming up to 14 days for the 2nd.

How are others finding histology result waiting times at the moment. I am surprised it takes so long, there is no culturing, after all.

It seems like the big bottleneck.

cheers

Leo

  • Hi  . The waiting is always hard. Results should be ready now but the wait is usually longer because of the availability of your consultant. we are seeing longer waiting times because of backlogs. If you have a CNS then it might be worth giving them a ring for some information. Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • No info from CNS. I suspect histology is a big drag on the pathway to treatment.

Not an overtly political comment but protecting the NHS for me is THE major issue at the moment. There is money for it, if the political will is there to do it.

  • Hi Leo, I waited 42 very long days for my last turbt result. I asked the CNS to escalate it twice in case of recurrence. Sadly the backlog seems to be the issue. I agree NHS could and should be fixed if there was politcal will to do so. It breaks my heart to see whats happened to it. Hope you dont have to wait much longer, the waiting is really hard.

  • Hi Angela,

That is a terribly long wait, but I suspect it’s all too common. It’s probably why survival rates in the USA are so much better than in the U.K. No needless delays.

I tried to call the CNS, they are on holiday, half term I expect. The stand-in knew nothing and sounded disinterested.

It’s soul destroying. I can understand why people take the private route, if they have the money. I do not.
