1st TURBT done.Back from theatre. All good. The catheter is working fine, but bladder feels in "constant I feel like a pee mode". Is that normal, suppose it's just post op pain. Any pointers most welcome. Thanks Grrat to have the little critter cut out

Hi Leo1,
Good to hear you're back from theatre and all's well.
I had my catheter in for about 6 hours after my operation. I couldn't wait for it too be removed, I found it very uncomfortable, but I don't recall having the feeling to wee whilst it was in. I guess everyone one is different.
The catheter used during the operation is a larger version, so was a bit painful when it was removed, but is over very quickly. The catheter used for BCGs is smaller thankfully.
Afterwards I was sore for a while and they signed me off work for two weeks which I actually needed.
I was drinking loads of water each day and I was still peeing blood and bits for a few weeks after, which can be a bit shocking at times.
Although on the subject of wee... Prior to the TURBT my wee was a dark, muddy type of colour. Afterwards my wee was back to a normal colour and was clear. It was amazing (for me) to be doing normal wees again.
I wish you a speedy recovery and that you're back home soonest.
Kindest Regards
Hi Leo,Good to hear that it’s done and catheter is working well. It’s not uncommon to feel like you need to go post TURBT.You may notice you pass blood and bits. It’s usually most uncomfy for the first couple of days but hopefully things will ease with time.Fluids will help to flush the bladder.Best wishes for a quick recovery.Jane
BFG thank you.just wIting for pathology / histology. And then meeting with multi disciplinary team after the festive season. The tumor was a bit bigger that they thought, 2CM, total area removed was 5CM with some growths around it.Its gone into connective tissue bit only path will tell us if it's made it to the muscle, hopefully not.
