Hi there. I am a breast cancer survivor of 9 years. I now have papillary + solid Urothelial carcinoma Grade 2 , low grade Ta? I was diagnosed a few weeks ago. Surgeon tried to remove tumors but could only take biopsies.
This Tuesday was my first of 6 Mitomycin treatments. As I have little to no control over my bladder and only about 30ml capacity ( nurse knew this) the Mitomycin came straight back out. Nurse then removed everything and sent me home. On way out I felt fluid running into my incontinence pad. Fluid was purple. So some did actually stay in.
2 days later same nurse called to say all chemo cancelled and I will see the consultant in 3 months for scope.
Since then I'm in more pain and urinating is quite painful. Had hoped this would pass but still holding on.
Has anyone had same problems? Any advice here would be greatly appreciated.
Sorry for long thread. I'm at my wits end.

Hi Kilmaurs meg
Sorry to here of your troubles, Its seems a long time to wait 3 months to see your consultant,
and suffering so much pain, If your pain continues I would go to A & E This could help push on your referral to see a consultant
I hope you all the best Lv xx Anya
Thanks Anya I will be phoning my GP tomorrow morning. I did read this chemo can irritate the bladder but should only last a couple of days.
Thanks again. Meg xx
IHi Meg
It sound like you have a solid tumor, Test your urine to make sure you dont have an infection, You will know more once you get your results from your biopsy
Wishing you all the best Anya xx
Hi Anyastar. Thank you gor your reply.
I've already had results of biopsies after TURBT. papillary + solid Urothelial carcinoma Grade 2 , low grade Ta? Surgeon couldn't remove the tumor. Was concerned she might puncture the bladder.
My problem is with the treatment. Mitomycin seems to have made things worse. I was in pain before but now it has gotten worse.
Because I can't retain the Mitomycin ( no bladder control) all other chemo has been cancelled. Does anyone know of other options?
I will be calling my GP tomorrow morning.
Tia. Meg xx
