Afternoon everyone
I haven’t been on for a while.
I had my first TURBT last year, everything removed cancer wise.
Had check up and they thought they had found another but wasn’t sure, so knocked out again and was told it wasn’t but it was scar tissue. Next check up September 2023.
Well for last 3 or so weeks I have had an ache in the lower left side of back, continuously there.
so I thought I would make appointment with drs. Bars in mind that I have had no symptoms of UTI etc.,
I saw a lovely advance practitioner nurse, who I have seen before.
she did urine test (urine was quite cloudy she said she could see something in it). Did dip stick test only to be told there is blood in urine.
Rather than try and contact hospital as they can be a pain to contact she said she would use 2 week rule again at the same hospital I am under.
she also said she would arrange an ultrasound.
my mind is all over the place at the moment and am seriously considering not doing anything.
I know I haven’t really been through a lot compared to some of you guys but I really don’t know how much further I can go with it all.
how many times do they keep doing turbt before they say it’s enough?
my health took a turn at Christmas and I ended up in intensive care with pneumonia.
so it’s been a roller coaster ride.
if it’s not the space invader come back (that’s what I call it) what is it?
to be honest if I had a choice at the moment bladder or No bladder I would choose no bladder. Plus my weight is up and down at the moment and I really don’t feel like eating at all. I haven’t heard from Macmillan nurse since last year when I was assigned her, should I contact her?
thanks for reading
jane
Hi Jane. It's always worrying when we get these issues. The positive is things are being investigated for you. Ultrasounds are not ideal for detecting early signs, but if you get your cystoscopy you will get some answers. I have had a few false alarms over the years. If you still have a CNS it may be worth while giving them a call. Best wishes.
