Hi I’m new to this group, I’ve joined after my dad has been diagnosed.
Hes recently had radiotherapy and is now in a lot of pain, which comes in waves. Is this normal? He’s 91 and he just has people round to change his catheter. He hasn’t had much information from anywhere about the whole process
Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you
Hello MissDarcy
Welcome to the Online Community.
I am sorry to hear of your Dad's diagnosis with bladder cancer. It must be distressing to see him in pain after his radiotherapy treatments. I think the best plan is to give his GP a call and ask for him to be seen and for the pain to be checked out. It may indeed be normal to have some pain coming and going in waves but there will be some pain relief that his doctor can prescribe for him. Alternatively if you have a number for his hospital team you could also call them for advice.
I hope that Dad can be made more comfortable.

Hi MissDarcy . I had radiotherapy but fortunately didn't suffer too bad with it. The RT can burn the bladder so it is important Dad drinks lots of water regularly. I hope the docs can sort some pain relief for him. Best wishes.
