Hello, my husband restarted BCG after quite a long break and his first treatment really affected him and he felt it was unlikely he would be able to finish the course but from the second one onwards, the side effects  were much less severe. Tiring and some pain but manageable. He is a lot younger but he tends to hit it with strong pain relief - your mum could ask if there is something stronger she can take. A bath at the end of the day seems to help as well. Wishing you both well.
