Hi everybody
Devastated really , not just at the diagnosis but I feel my Dad (71) was totally neglected by the hospital . Had blood in urine July 2021 , went to the doctors and several scans later he has a very aggressiv bladder cancer so they said only option was to remove the bladder . Had the op in Nov 2021 and all seemed to be going well , didn't have chemo or radio after op which surprised me . Attended all his regular scans however he never actually got to see the cosultant team again until Jan 2023 which is where we got the news , however throughout we have asked and asked for results from the scans , receptionist always said they would send a letter out and was obviously nothing found or they would have contacted us. Turns out the scans got missed and nobody had seen them and the cancer had spread in the June,September and December scans but because nobody had seen them it was missed has now spread too far and has months to live , no treatment available . We are close so I think devastated is an understatement : (
Thank you Jane , no not getting any support at all at the moment , hospital have referred back to GP , awaiting for them to contact with a doctor, also asked for referral to mcmillan for support . No care plan in place yet either and he is uncomfortable around his stomach , part of where it has spread. Never been in this situation so have no idea what to do
