I think all went well..im a 66 year old Male and still work(few weeks off now though).I have a clinical nurse appointment in a couple of weeks to see how things proceed... I am quite a strong-minded person and im keeping myself busy as I. feel ok really.... my thanks to the NHS for their quick investigation and treatment so far... and to all on here my best wishes.
Hi maxandflo and welcome to the group. You will get plenty of support and advice here as you go forward. Good to know you have had your TURBT done. Now a bit of a wait for biopsy results which will determine the next step. Just be aware that at about the ten day mark, the scab starts breaking away from the wound and passed as blood or tiny clots. This is normal. I only mention it because if you do not expect it, it can be a bit worrying. Keep drinking lots of water to keep things flushed out. You may also be called for a CT or MRI scan. This is routine, so don't get alarmed if you get a call out of the blue. Lots of varying experiences here, so feel free to ask anything. Best wishes.
hi all, ive had the cal from clinical nurse after turbt 3 weeks or so ago..im looking at the high end of a grade 2 cancer which she says is non invasive, I will need 6weeks of 1 hour chemo sessions to be confirmed shortly.. by reading some posts here my summary is it could have been worse.. does a high grade 2 determine treatment and side effects....best wishes to all.
Hi maxandflo. Treatment is usually determined by stage and grade. Grade 2 is intermediate to high and the standard treatment is either BCG (immunotherapy) or Mitomycin (chemo). Both treatments administered the same way directly in to the bladder. Treatments are designed to mop up any rogue cells and help prevent recurrences. Best wishes.
