How do you all cope with the waiting ..the not knowing..the uncertainty .. my mental health is awful right now

  • It’s ok to be a mess, people deal with problems in different ways. The procedures my husband had were not easy but they were not as bad as I thought they would be.

  • You probably have heard this many times: this is a very treatable cancer. Most stories I have read on this forum have a good ending. Hang in there. You will get the results  then a plan for the therapy and you will feel a lot better. I know it is difficult to believe (couldn't really believe it myself before the results and the therapy started). Bit it is true. I really hope you are going to be better. And think you are not alone!

  • I have heard that :) I think scaring myself has taken over though! Horror stories, stats, dr google :( May I ask what your size was and symptoms are? How old are you also?

  • Size isn't really important. It is the progression that matters and yours appears to have been caught early which is good. I have been on here for nearly ten years and others have been here longer. We hang around to try and help others. There have been far far more positive stories here over the years than negative . Best wishes.

    Best wishes to All,   rily.

  • They really didn’t tell me too much at the time other than looked as though I had a 5mm polyp…could be something could be nothing … I’ve spent 3 weeks with this info along with google and literally ended up nearly being sectioned with how I was! I’ve made myself Poorly with worry… it’s great that you’ve stuck around ..have you seen many benign cases while you’ve been on here? Either way I will be hanging around too

  • 1)Maybe you would prefer to have been born with a genetic condition so you broke bones from age 18 months to teens, were in and out of hospital and could never do sport. 2) Maybe you would prefer to have become too unwell with a genetic condition to work by age 24 and live in a twilight world of chronic fatigue and painkillers, resigned to never having children you and fiance would have loved to. 3) Maybe you would prefer to have had severe epilepsy start at age 7 scarring your schooling and making you the victim of nasty disability discrimination in employment and personal life. We do not get to choose do we?

If you have enjoyed normal health until 36 that is actually not such an unfair deal imho. 1 is me, 2 is our daughter 3 is my husband. Oh and by the way his whole bladder was full of tumours 6 years ago too many to even count or measure. But he has been free for years since treatment.

I hope you do not have to wait too much longer for results, but everyone is dependent on the process in the lab which actually takes some days to do. No one gets instant answers, everyone here has offered you all sorts of really sound advice.

    Best wishes,

    Denby

  • Well yes, one can usually find someone else worse off. But each person's issues affect them individually & we can't always control the extent of that.

  • I’m so sorry to see that you have not had it easy at all :( I have had health blips over the years ..removal of an ovary and mri on breasts but these seem minimal compared to what you are having to deal with x

  • I’ve never been good at dealing with things sadly ..my mind will really go into over drive and over think ..it’s sadly the way that I’m wired.

  • I'm so sorry Denby. I cried for you & your family.
