Hi all I had an ovary scan as a yearly check up and found a 5mm x 4mm polyp on my bladder! Was told to contact gp. I have the camera in a weeks time but I’m terrified! I’ve Googled so so much I’ve scared myself something stupid! I’m convinced it’s cancer and that it’s else where :( I haven’t had any symptoms of anything the scan was just an annual one .. all I find are stories of how things found are cancerous! Any one had anything similar ..thank you :)
Treatment in America can be very different to the UK, so if you must read cancer sites I’d recommend sticking to Macmillan and Cancer Research as they are UK based , accurate and relevant. But my advice would still be not to read horror stories about cancer as you haven’t had any diagnosis yet.
I didn’t Google a single thing before my diagnosis so saved myself lots of potential anxiety! Even after diagnosis and going through treatment I relied on my team for information, not the internet, because it was going to be unique to me and relevant.
Sarah xx
It is different in the USA. Stick to sites such as Action Bladder Cancer UK or Macmillan . Try not to read up on statistics, they mean nothing. Everyone is individual. Best wishes.
