I'm currently waiting for an appointment with the consultant to tell me what stage / grade of bladder cancer I have. Had a PET scan on Monday as they want to check out a lung nodule as well. Meanwhile I've got pain near my hip bone which sometimes feels as if I've got the "stitch" and sometimes is a dull ache around that area. I've had a CT scan and MRI recently. This pain seems to be getting worse and more constant.
Can anyone relate please? Is this likely being brought on by the cancer. Had a TURBT operation 3 weeks ago. Trying to work out whether all of this is likely to be related or whether this is something completely different. I need to talk to my GP next week so will mention it but wondering if anyone has had similar in conjunction with the bladder issues. I currently have a catheter fitted. Could this have anything to do with it?
Hi Polar. People report many different random aches and pains following a TURBT but maybe your GP may be able to help. A scan identified a nodule on my lungs when I was first diagnosed. They just kept an eye on it and it has not changed in 9years. Hopefully the same for you. Best wishes.
Thanks Rily
Just heard from the hospital after my PET scan that they have not found anythi9ng sinister re the lung nodule. Like you they are going to monitor with another scan in 3 months. So that's good news. Still waiting for news re stage and grade of the bladder cancer but heard that they have another MDT meeting this afternoon so should hear something soon I hope.
Thanks Teasswill.
The hip pain issue seems to be coming and going. I think you could be right about favouring one leg over the other. Since you mentioned it I've thought about it and think I'm doing that to some extent. Had a call about the lung nodule which seems ok and nothing has been said about any other issues elsewhere so I'm taking that to mean it's just the bladder that's the problem. Hoping to get some more information on that soon.
