My partner has G3, non muscle invasive bladder cancer diagnosed a year ago.
He has has 12 BCG treatments and a clear cystoscopy a couple of months ago.
The consultant sent him for a CT scan recently and said that there may be an area of infection in the prostate and has started him on 3 weeks of antibiotics. He has also booked a full blood count and renal function tests and an MRI scan. He said it isn't of immediate concern which I am hoping means he thinks it is an infection (or abscess which was mentioned on the blood test form) rather than anything more sinister. I have read that prostatitis can be a side effect of BCG.
Just wondered if anyone has had anything similar - I had hoped for a more peaceful Christmas but this has left me very anxious again.
Thanks
Hello Catfan and welcome to the group. Sorry to hear your partner is having some BCG concerns. Not experienced this myself, but hopefully someone will be along to offer advice. I hope the antibiotics work and the tests show nothing to worry about so you can have a peaceful Christmas. Best Wishes.
