I was expecting a phone call for BCGs 10-12, instead I got a short notice face to face appointment with my consultant.
Histology from the last cystoscopy were negative so I am currently cancer free!
However a decision had to be made on what to do going forward, especially because of the damage the BCG has done and Covid blowing the schedule.
Choices were another set of maintenance doses, start again with 6 induction courses or 3 monthly Cystoscopies for the next 2 years.
I've gone for the cystoscopies as the BCG effects would have only got worse and the last one left me in pain for 9 weeks after, not to mention that I also have an enlarged prostate because of them.
TBH I was dreading the next lot of BCG so it's a big relief that I don't have to have it. He did warn me that there was a chance of a recurrence but it should be able to be dealt with quite easily.
