Hi lovely people
I'm 3 months post treatment and the pain and pressure down below has come back with a vengeance..
I know i have read that pelvic radiotherapy can cause this.. has anyone else experienced this?
I'm seeing oncologist on 3rd June for my 3 month scan results so will raise this with him also..
Xx
Hey Squeak.... you're up early too, huh? I've just taken more oramorph and paracetamol, hoping to get a couple more hours zzzz once it kicks in :(
Have you still got pain relief to hand? Is it the same type of pain you're experiencing that you had previously or is this a new type of pain? Sorry you're struggling again post treatment. I really hope it resolves soon for you!

Hi Squeak,
Sorry that you have to go in for a meeting when you’ve been awake all night in pain. No joke and hope you get through it.
In regard to the pain, I can relate to that. I had sudden onset back pain just after the 3 month mark, which then spread to hips, groin and upper inner thighs. Spinal MRI showed nerve compression due to stenosis but no idea if that’s causing the groin pain. It’s pretty intense.
I have a CT scan on Saturday and my 6 month MRI Monday. If I learn anything I will let you know.
Best of luck for today. Xx
Hello Squeak
I am so sorry you are having to soldier on and go into work when you haven't had much sleep because of pain. My hips ache particularly when I am going upstairs and after various investigations a simple xray showed I had degenerative osteoarthritis in both hips. This has happened in the last three years since treatment ended, the physiotherapist suggested it could be my age and then took one look at my face! BC a 10 - 15 mile walk was nothing to me and all scans prior to treatment were clear.
When I see the oncologist after scans they are always sympathetic but can't or don't offer anything, probably outside their remit - they deal with the cancer, not the long-term side effects. It took my GP to order the xray and prescribe oxycodone, I take a couple before my walk and at least I can climb the stairs, albeit slowly. If your oncologist doesn't help I would see your GP - mine is wonderful and told me they have a very low threshold for referring me for further treatment.
But all that said, I am still walking 20-odd miles a week with my pooch, her needs are still there and it loosens me up! I think we all have a new normal after treatment and I hope your symptoms can be treated so you can at least sleep. And good luck today.

Hi Squeak. ,
I’m sorry that you’re experiencing this ‘flare’ & that you’ve got to go into work on no sleep, there’s nothing worse!
I suffered flare-ups of inflammation on & off for quite some time following my treatment & as with Irene I’m left with hip pain, I also have bilateral sciatica & some lower back pain, my left hip was a little iffy prior to treatment but nothing like it is now although my physio has said he thinks it’s greater trochanteric pain syndrome which is more muscular related rather than joint but X-rays show some osteoarthritis.
As you’ve said mention anything that concerns you to your team I always made them aware of everything.
I hope your day isn’t too long & that you manage a decent nights sleep tonight.
Nicola
Hi took oramorph but didn't really help..
I'm just gutted tgat after 3 months, the pain has returned. I was so upset yesterday.. im praying that on 3rd June my 3 month scan results are ok..
No idea what next steps are to find out what's causing the pain..
I was misdiagnosed for over a year with my gp and local hospital..they just kept says it's menapause..so I have no faith in them..
I will keep u all posted x
