Good afternoon everyone.
October already! I had my CT scan a week ago, what a kerfuffle. The 2 pints of water an hour before was agonising to hold on to! I now have a new nurse, she can sometimes be very difficult to get hold of
I have been suffering discomfort, stiffness and sometimes pain ever since my chemo/radio in my tummy, hips, lower back etc My bloods a few weeks ago came back clear with no tumour markers which is wonderful. My team don't seem concerned with my current discomfort. I am however.
Back last October they observed that localised lymph nodes were inflamed, they explained that the nodes would be treated alongside the tumour with the radiotherapy.
The discomfort seems to be in and around my sitting bones. Does anyone else have experience of a similar pain?
Also in the last few days I have a really hot sensation around my genitals which feels so peculiar.
Any advice will be much appreciated

Hello PaddyBud
I am waiting on a Dexa scan as my hips and pelvis constantly ache (I am 2 1/2 years from finishing treatment). I had physiotherapy and it didn't help, I try to keep active and walk every day with my dog, but aches and pains seem to be the norm for me now. If you look up effects from pelvic radiotherapy it sounds as if you are suffering from similar.
Sorry if it isn't this isn't what you want to hear, I accept it as one of the side effects from the treatment that means I am still here enjoying life (and I do!) but I don't always grin and bear it gracefully.
The hot sensation is a new one, but I am hoping that someone who has experienced similar will pick up on this and reassure you.
It is so good to hear from you again and I hope you get some answers.

Hi there Irene.
I must apologise I have just re read your message and I haven't until now replied. Time is just passing so quickly.
Any news from your Dexa scan?
I'm still waiting on results from CT and MRI scans I had in early October though my nurse messaged last Friday to say I was kn thr last to be discussed at their MDT meeting which was held yesterday. Nov 24th.
My 'sitting bones' seem to bother me more with every day. I try walks most days, including hills, it does wonders for my mental health.
Sending you Merry season wishes

Hello PaddyBud
Good to hear from you. I am truly taken aback at how long you are having to wait for the results of scans in October, I so hope you hear very soon with good news.
I am having the Dexa scan in January. Apparently there has to be a 28 day gap between have a CT scan with contrast (which I am having in December) and a Dexa scan, hence the delay. But at least I have a date now.
Sitting bones - yes I know about pain there! But you are doing the right thing going out and getting exercise, when I walk everything eases up a little.
Good wishes to you too.

Good morning Irene
Wishing you all the very best with your CT and Dexa
I have now heard from my nurse with good news. All clear.
Doesn't explain all this discomfort but as you say treatment does leave its mark on us.
So pleased I can breath easy.
Out in Aberystwyth for the day. Beautiful blue skies and sun here.
Have a glorious Christmas
