Hello Jlan
You must be so relieved to have finally started, at least you are finally on the road after a long wait. If you are suffering from nausea please tell your treating team, there are quite a few alternative drugs out there that you may need to try so please don't soldier on without help. Whilst I personally didn't suffer from nausea/dizziness there are quite a few members who shared your symptoms, hopefully they will pick up on your post and give you some hints.
Gentle hug
Irene xx
Thankyou, it's so debilitating. Was hoping to be able to work in week one but all I can do is lie down. Hope this nausea settles before other side effects come my way
Hi Jlan
Great on starting your treatment.. not great on your chemo side effects.. did the doctor give you antibiotics sickness tablets? I took those 3 times a day and they kept a lot of the sickness at bay..
Talk to your doctor when u at hospital on monday.. they may be able to change the meds..
I hope you feel better soon.. keep us posted on your journey xx

Hi Jlan
Well done on getting through week 1. I had sickness nausea feeling with my first dose of chemo which I think was down to the mitomycin as I felt fine with my second dose at the end of treatment where I didn't have mitomycin. If the anti sickness meds they have given you aren't doing anything ask for different ones, I never realised until after the fact that I could have had different ones. Sending hugs. Xx
Hi Jlan ,
Although it’s great to hear you’ve started your treatment I’m sorry that you’re feeling so ropey! I’ll just repeat what’s already been said, if your anti sickness meds aren’t cutting it then ask your treating team to try you on a different one. There are lots of alternatives out there & it’s not a one size fits all kind of medication. Hopefully you’ll be feeling better soon.

Hello Jlan,
Well done on starting treatment but sorry that you have such nausea and dizziness. I definitely had nausea in the first week although was never actually sick kept feeling like I was on the verge and think it was due to the IV chemo. I had metoclopramide tablets which helped control it. I found that the nausea improved in the second week and hope it does for you.
Im sorry that you have to wait until tomorrow before trying an alternative. As others have said there are different types available so I hope this gets sorted for you. Xx
Hi Jill!
I just finished week 1 as well and the nausea and discomfort are tough! I’m trying not to think about what weeks 4-6 will be like and really trying to just focus on getting through each day and not worrying about upcoming weeks. Look how fast July flew by! We’ll be done with this before we know it!
We can do this!
