Hi personal question ane have called the cancer care Line as I am worried.   I am mid week six post treatment and everything is so much better, except my Vagina is very shallow and when checking for healing, as advised my by specialist nurse, I can see my Cervix aand I have discomfort if walking!  I mentioned it about 3 weeks ago and was told it would be ok - but it’s not changed.

Has anyone else had this happen and rectified itself?
I should get a call back tomorrow so will update but getting worked up about it and know if anyone knows someone on here will Heart

Thank you Angie xx

  • Hi  ,

I had some discomfort walking a couple of weeks ago (I’m just over 3 months post treatment) which reminded me of when I was heavily pregnant, so felt pelvic floor related. A kind of fullness/heaviness feeling. Is that similar to what you’ve been experiencing ?

I realised several days later that I picked up my son a couple of times a few days before the feeling started so much have strained myself (he was heavier than I thought!). It’s improved now and I’ve been trying really hard to remember to do my pelvic floor exercises to help.

  • Thanks Georgie I think the last 12 weeks has made me so weak it must be similar as lifted stuff recently and walked maybe too much! Will keep exercises up too.  Thank you x

  • Also fabulous result for you x we all need to remember to not overdo anything as it’s been a tough time hey x thank you again x

I have examined myself quite a few times with a mirror.  The only thing is that I never had to BC so I am not quite sure what I looked like, but I certainly don't feel exactly the same as before.  I'm afraid I can't help you with the cervix aspect, I had my cervix removed during a hysterectomy many years ago, but my skin looks very different.

A number of people on here have had pelvic physiotherapy after chemo/radiotherapy which helped them regain pelvic fitness.  I hope your treating team can help and point you in the right direction, and not least put your mind at rest.

Please let me know how you get on.

  • Thanks Irene didn’t know PElvira physiotherapy existed!  Seeing my GP surgery today - haven’t been to them for years so will be interesting!! Very nervous of examination but after our treatments we are capable of slapping anyone away xx thank you will let you all know outcome x

  • Hi  , if you’re seeing your GP this morning definitely ask about pelvic physiotherapy & if he/she isn’t helpful then ask to be referred to gynaecology if you’re still concerned. Failing this ask your oncologist if they would be willing to refer you.

  • Thank you it’s my mission now x

  • Update - def prolapsed Cervix but next likely appt at hosp is May or July next year.

I saw a loverly male Dr and lady was with me and confirmed.

I am researching now a quicker way and physio, and clenching as we speak to exercise.

Most likely cause could be treatment and/ or sever constipation one night just after treatment finished. That won’t be happening again ever so exercises may help repair a bit,  if not the a ring is an option as early stage is confirmed.

thank you all for your advice and support

    love Angie

  • Hi Angie

The Kent NHS trust do an article on Bowels and how to strengthen them. I tried to copy and paste it on here but didn’t know how. If you Google it you may find it. In the meantime I will try again
