Hi all
So, this is my last weekend before my treatment begins on monday, mixed emotions and feelings, which are to be expected i suppose, i am trying to keep as busy as i can, have visitors coming soon and ive got a good friend taking me out somewhere nice tomorrow to lock something in my head for the next few weeks
Does anybody have any tips on bathing products, everything seems to irritate at the minute , i am using epsom salts for soaking but need something better for washing if possible? Thanks in advance
Hope everyone is safe through this storm, it seems to have cleared a little here in north wales, this is the norm for us lol
Hi Happyforager2 , yes cetraben is a very similar type of cream as the QV & aquamax so hopefully it’ll do the trick

I have just thought of something else; some time ago a member on the forum recommended using coconut oil wipes after using the loo. I did, and I also bought an eye-wateringly expensive bottle of lotion specifically for cleaning the anal area. One day I was round at my daughter's and didn't have my loo supplies and I used some Aldi baby lotion that was on the cupboard shelf. It was very soothing and I bought my own - 89p a bottle and it contains coconut oil, AND it doesn't sting!

Hi, that is a good tip! I had a salt (just table salt) bath every night of the 6.5 weeks I was having chemoradiation and my consultant was always surprised at the skin response so I swore by that!
Irene75359 thats brilliant thank you for the idea, I'll give it a go, the nurses yesterday have given me some soft, non woven wipes/cloths to clean down there although most of my tumour is on the outside and rather large so wiping of anything is a real no go at the min
Hi Forager,
I was using peri-bottles before treatment even started as my poor rear end was so sore. My team had nothing to offer, I'm sorry to say. A friend recommend Balneol lotion, which is expensive, but a few drops on a (non-scented!) baby wipe, patted gently, worked for me. Later my husband installed a bidet attachment on the loo which was a game-changer. Highly recommend if they're available in the wilds of North Wales!
Hope your first week is going well!
Hugs
