I am 3 weeks into my treatment and have one of those nagging doubts that have a habit of popping into your head and sticking there.
My tumor still weeps a rediculous amount of fluid. In the past I had actually assumed the fluid was coming from my rear end but my oncologist assures me it's the tumor itself.
Does anyone have any experience of the weeping continuing well into your treatment. The tumor is definitely much smaller than it was but the fluid is still a problem. It agrivates the surrounding area as does any attempt to absorb it with tissues or pads.
The obvious concern is what it means if it's still weeping at the end of treatment.
This worry has stuck in my mind only today and wont budge.
Can anyone put this to bed for me?
Cheers
Ian
Panic no more! Even after my chemoradiation finished I had horrible weeping sores, given that my "mushroom" started to shrink after the first week! Apart from leaking I had horrible, wet yellow bits of skin shedding! Convinced that I had infection or another symptom of disease. Was reassured that is a natural process of skin renewing itself called "sloughing" of the old dead skin! Wasn't an easy journey, probably lasted three months after the end of treatment but every day after that felt better and the memories fade into insignificance. Bowed out last month since I feel that others have more up to date therapy and reactions to report on! Now 5 1/2 years on and ok, and thankful to still be here and clear. If I can do it, then so can you. Spent years thinking I might have some terrible disease. Didnt, but when it happens you can find it in yourself to fight on. Ask yourself - who can believe in you, if you don't believe in yourself? I know it's hard but you hold the key! The future beckons and you are your future. Whenever you need reassurance I am here! Together! Mxx

Hi there , thanks for that.
I was told today by the review team that it's common for the tumors to continue to weep all the way through treatment.
It's certainly reassuring to hear that from you also
Cheers
Ian.
Hi there
Im a week after treatment now and the weeping is still as bad. It got worse during the treatment and also changed consistency, it's quite thick now where it used to be watery.
I think this is such an unusual condition that its hard not to think the worst tbh. It could be the RT treatment causing the weeping even after the tumor has been destroyed, especially as the consistency is different now. But apart from yourself I dont think anyone knows of anyone else who has this.
The hospital did say its common but It doesnt appear to be.
