Hi me again…
I finished treatment last Wednesday (so now day three days post).
I was given flaminal forte as my skin was starting to break down - I also have Nu Gel I have been using from about week 4.
I tried the Flaminal Forte last night and I have been in really bad pain from 3am and all day - so much I’ve increased morphine to 5ml (after 111 advice).
has anyone else had a reaction to this - it could be side effects becoming worse and just a coincidence. It could just be too strong.
im not using it tonight safe to say!
Hi AuroraHunter ,
Firstly huge congratulations on finishing your treatment, you did it!!
It wasn’t until I’d finished my treatment that my skin began to break down & to be honest yes it was sore & uncomfortable but not as bad as some. I was given Flamazine to use post treatment & it stung like heck!! I’d read on here previous to me finishing my treatment a lady had been advised to mix the Flamazine with a little aqueous cream so that’s what I started doing, I don’t know if it reduced the effectiveness of the Flamazine but it definitely stopped it stinging.
This increase in pain may be nothing to do with the cream though it may be coincidental that your side effects are peaking. Has the pain settled at all? If you try it again & get the same reaction give your treating team a call & I’m sure they’ll be able to prescribe an alternative.
Sending lots of healing thoughts your way.
Nicola
Hello AuroraHunter
You must be so very relieved that the treatment is over, well done! It is such a relief when there is no longer the daily grind of hospital visits, now you just need to be very kind to yourself and let your body recover.
I am sorry you went through such bad pain and hope you are feeling a bit better today. I also used Flaminal Forte with Polymem dressings as I had open sores back to front. I didn't have a reaction at all. But if the pain has eased off it may well be a reaction, we are all different and what suits one person may not suit another. If it returns then it may well be the final effects of treatment kicking in. Take heart that it doesn't last forever and when you do start healing it is quite dramatic how quickly it happens.
Gentle hug
Irene xx
Thank you both. I think it was maybe too strong at this stage. Back on the nu gel and not as painful.
