Hello I’m new on here

my mum had AML from diagnosis in July she passed at home in November

she took part in trial treatments as there was nothing they could do for her other than make her comfortable

i am very worried myself as I have lumpy areas snd deep red spots appeared on my buttocks sides of hips top of legs snd back of my arms they are itchy

I  scared to go to doctor when I know I should

I remember mum being very itchy

has anyone else experienced similar xx

  • Hi KHM and welcome to this corner of the Community although always sorry to see folks joining us.

I am Mike and I help out around our blood cancer groups. I don’t have AML but was diagnosed way back in 1999 with a rare incurable but treatable type of skin Non Hodgkin’s Lymphoma Stage 4a.

I am so sorry to hear about your mum and unfortunately for some ‘older’ patients this can happen.

I can understand your concerns and indeed researchers have found that leukaemia ‘may’ run in a family due to inherited gene mutations so for peace of mind you need to go see your GP and talk your concerns through and get them to check out these symptoms.

    ((hugs))
