Just wondering what other people's experience with this is. My AML is now deemed incurable and I am taking a low dose of hydroxycarbamide and a load of prophylactic things.
Since November my inflammatory (CRP) marker has been high or erratic. They have searched in vain for an infection and some of my doctors (including most senior consultant) now think it is caused by underlying disease.
Now my platelets are getting erratic, from 44 to 3 over 4 days in most recent case. One theory is that it is being caused by the infection they cannot find. First time it dived I was very depressed, thinking the end was nigh. Now I don't know what to think.
My haemoglobin is fairly constant, I need regular tops, but the levels seem predictable.
