My son was diagnosed in 2002 with ALL in 2002 aged 8. In June 2016 he relapsed after 14 years. He has had 2 stem cell transplants one in 2016 and the other 2020. He has had two rounds of Carr t therapy and most recently immunotherapy. He had a bone marrow in April which revealed he is now in remission. Over the years he has truly been to hell and back back knocked on the door but wasn't allowed in, I guess what I'm trying to say is never give up, embrace the good days and don't dwell on the bad , keep going x
Hi Barsham
Thank you for sharing the great news that your son is now in remission. He has been on a very tough journey and he must be a real fighter and has had some tremendous support from you on his journey. Hopefully he can now put the treatment behind him and move forward to the next stage of his life ALL free.
Paul

Hi Paul, thank you for your kind message.I have just read your story, my son was also treated at Bart's and more recently addensbrookes. You have obviously been through a lot and reading story was inspiring. My son has also had a lot of the same problems you experienced during and after treatment, you tend to think it's just you and your family that are going through hard times.
Barsham Hi Jane
I think when you are going through the whole process either as the patient or the carer it is difficult to think about other people and how their treatment is going as you become so focussed on your journey you have to take.
The positive thing is you can come out the other side and get back to a normal life where the ALL is no longer who you and your son are. You know you are winning when people stop asking how you are!!
Enjoy the days, weeks, months and years ahead.. slowly they all merge into one.
