Insurance With: update - hard to contact, very little deposit returned

About 7 months ago I reccomrnded this company. Regrettably I have to withdraw thst recommendation.

i booked a lifetime family holiday in the USA to commence in Sept 2024.

I uses Insurancce With who seemed good value . But I was then diagnosed with secondary cancer and had to csncel the holiday and claim for the deposit of around £1000

Then the fun began. Insurance With are a broker and I was passed on to the insurance company who a) were hard to contact and treated my claim as if I had not declared a pre existing condition . With a huge excess , I received very little of my deposit money back. Iinsurance With washed their hands of me. 
To cut a long story short - I would not use Insurance With again.

    I'm sorry to read that you weren't able to go on your holiday. Having difficulty making an insurance claim is definitely something that you don't need on top of discovering that you have secondary cancer.

    I know when I needed to make a claim it was about 8 weeks and lots of paperwork later before I got my money back, although this wasn't through Insurancewith. All my communication with the actual insurance company was done by email and even the paperwork had to be submitted that way and not through the post. I realise it probably makes it easier for the company to deal with but sometimes we just want to ask a question on the phone.

    Anyway, I hope your treatment is going well and you will be able to book another holiday soon.
