Hi does anyone know how far back you have to declare a hospital stay or injury, they usually ask is it over 2 years for any treatment of cancer and things but what about other illnesses not cancer related. I can’t see that you have to go back 25 years or so.
I was on the phone for over 90 mins yesterday with things in the last 6 years and it’s only when phone call was finally done I thought back to when husband was in hospital 25 years ago when he had an op on his thumb and I’m sure we’ve had things wrong with us nearer to the last 6 years.
Thanks anyhow xx
Normally travel insurance providers will make clear how long ago you need to go back with medical history. It varies from company to company so why not just ask them?
It also varies across different medical conditions , for example my provider wanted to know if I’d ever had asthma but for viruses/infections they were interested only in the past two years.
I think SEE has the right answer, each question you're asked should qualify the time frame.
If in doubt it's best to 'phone the insurer and talk through the questions to be sure you're answering them correctly and there will be no problem if something goes wrong whilst you're away on hols.
I hope you can get sorted easilly and go travelling soon.
