Good morning,
I have a few questions which come up when booking travel insurance:
I am getting very stuck (perhaps unnecessarily) with the question about the most recent scan. In the answer option "There has been an increase in the size or number of any tumors", for example, is the emphasis on the word ANY in that sentence?
The question, "Are you currently having, or planning to have:" Various options including "Any other treatment" or "More than one treatment". I am currently having Bevacizumab and will hopefully start with PARP inhibitors soon. Do I choose "Any" or "More than one"?
How does one say that you have a PICC line? This is not asked, so is it automatically covered?
Does rental car insurance ask for medical history? I have checked and didn't see it mentioned anywhere.
Many thanks for any comments, they will be greatly appreciated!
Hi RosemaryThyme and a very warm welcome to the group which I hope you'll find is both an informative and supportive place to be.
Trying to work out how you should answer medical questions when doing an online quote can be tricky sometimes.
If I'm not sure how to answer a question then I phone the insurer and go through the quote over the telephone. That way you can tell them about your cancer diagnosis and let them decide how to respond to the question.
I don't think it would be a good idea for any one here to suggest how you should answer, because if we give you the wrong answer and you take out insurance based on what someone here has said, you may find you're not covered if you need to make a claim.
I know this isn't the answer you were looking for but I hope it helps
Many thanks for your reply and I understand what you are saying. I asked my question here after speaking to an Travel Insurance representative on the phone. They also said that they couldn't advise me, for the same reasons. I think the only thing that remains is to speak to my consultant and hope that between us we come up with the right answer.
