Hi,
i was diagnosed with extensive 70mm DCIS this year. Had mastectomy and diep flap surgery in July. Just trying to get holiday insurance for 5 nights in Spain. I've declared all my pre exiting conditions. I also mentioned i had DCIS which was classed as non invasive and hadn't spread to lymph nodes. However, the next question asked was, has it progressed to breast cancer. This question then confused me as its such a grey area. I thought DCIS was grade 0 breast cancer, so why give me the option. DCIS is a pre cancer. So given my diagnosis what shall I put? Just stick with DCIS or state its progressed to breast cancer? Maybe the question should read was the DCIS confirmed to be an invasive cancer (ie spread beyond the milk ducts to make it clear what their question means). So im confused what to put. Anyone else come across this dilemma?? Thank you.
Hi Hel2000
My advice would be to call the travel insurance company so that you can explain your diagnosis and they can decide how it needs entering on the quote. That way you're covered if you were to claim as they wouldn't be able to say that they're not paying out because you gave wrong information.
