Hi everyone,
The lovely @latchbrook set up the original 'recommended travel insurance thread' which you can still view here. Just so you don't have to go through the different pages of information to find recent recommendations, you can find the most recent experiences in this thread.
Please note, all recommendations are from Community members and are not recommendations from Macmillan. Please do your own research as to whether the companies are suitable for you.
This thread can be used to update the group when you've found an insurance company that provided you with cover at a reasonable cost from a recommendation you found here or elsewhere.
If you could put a little bit of additional information eg. whether you got a single trip or annual, cover for a cruise, worldwide, etc along with anything else that you think others would find helpful when they are researching that would be great.
You may also find Macmillan's 'Cancer and buying travel insurance' page to be helpful
I am currently seeking travel insurance for my father who has been diagnosed with liver cancer, and the costs are horrendous or some will not even entertain us. Does anyone have any recommendations please
Hi Lucy Bars09090f and a very warm welcome to the group
Unfortunately, it's much harder to get reasonably priced travel insurance when a cancer diagnosis is involved.
In the past I've used payingtoomuch.com and goodtogoinsurance.com but I had a different type of cancer to your father.
Have you had a chance to look through this thread yet as you'll find lots of recommendations here?
I hope you're able to find some reasonably priced insurance so that your father can book his holiday.
Anne
Have you tried Insurancewith, they are the same people as albertandeddie

Hi JuliaA
Unfortunately it's more difficult to find reasonably priced travel insurance when a cancer diagnosis is involved. I've had insurance in the past through payingtoomuch.com and goodtogoinsurance.com
You could also have a look through this thread and make a list of previous recommendations. There'll be quite a few, but you can then try calling them to see if you can get a decent price.
Wishing you all the best with your search and, if you find one that gives you cover that's not mentioned in this thread, please come back to let us know.
I went through a few search engines and the cheapest I came up. With 4k, I had cancelled a a Caribbean cruise last year when we discovered my husband had Myeloma, he’s been going through treatment fortunately he’s now in partial remission. I also have a history of high blood pressure and high cholesterol, which are under control with a minimum dose of statins and a hypertension drug. My sister came across Total Travel Protection. I have a one year policy worldwide including cruise cover for £2, 600. The cover isn’t massive but we can now get away with some peace of mind.
Just tried their online quote - they cannot provide cover. It may be different if I call, so I’ll try.
That's good to hear that you can now go away on holiday snappyeileen . Annual insurance with cruise cover can be difficult to find so thanks for taking the time to post your recommendation.
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
