Hi all,

I am looking for help on where to get travel insurance for the following: Breast cancer, spread to other areas, but stable & able.

I am looking for an annual multi trip, up to 70+ days. Most trips will be short in EU,  but  later in the year I want to go to Australia for an extended time.

Am being told, not possible, single trips only (youch ££££) or mostly 31 days generally  max per trip but one said 45/55 days max per trip.

There must be a way to do this. I am fit & able &  been on this journey a long while but  recently identified stage 4, which likely just didn't show for years.

Thank you.

  • Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community which I hope you'll find is an informative and supportive place to be.

Unfortunately, as you have found, it can be more difficult to find travel insurance when you've had a cancer diagnosis.

I don't know if you've had chance to look through the 'recommended travel insurance' thread yet as it's where the majority of recommendations from other forum members are. If not, clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there. You might also want to look at this thread as it includes a link to a Travel Insurance Directory.

Lots of people here recommend that it's best to phone the insurance companies rather than try and do online quotes as often at the end of the online quote it will tell you to phone the company and you'll then have to go through all the information again. Also sometimes the broker can refer to the underwriters to see if they would provide cover when an online quote might just give you a straight refusal.

I have found that sometimes I've had to take out a couple of single trip insurances if I've wanted to do a long trip and a short trip as sometimes the maximum time on annual multi-trip policies hasn't been long enough.

Do come back and let us know how you get on
