When my husband was discharged from hospital last year after a health scare (blood clots in the lungs) he told me that everything was okay and they (the hospital) had given him the once over and he'd got the all clear. Turns out that wasn't quite the truth. They'd only scanned his torso and upper body and not any lower. So, yesterday we get the news that he has colon cancer that has spread across his liver and is now terminal. I just want to scream, at him for lying and at myself for not insisting he take the bowel tests he was sent. Now all I and our adult children can do is just watch and wait when this could all have been avoided.
Thanks for letting me vent
Hello Freddi
I am so sorry to read about your husband - he's a typical stubborn bloke!! I was the same, not eating properly and when I stopped drinking my wife almost had to drag me to the GP's (I am so glad she did).
This is the place to let go - vent, scream and let all your emotions go - you can say things here that won't get back to the family.
Do remember though we are here to support all the family and the Support Line is available to everybody on 0808 808 00 00 (8am to 8pm 7 days a week).
If I can do anything for you please do let me know.
Best wishes - Brian.
