MacMillan help

When my daughter was diagnosed with Stage 3 Myelofibrosis, the on-site MacMillan nurses were all over her. Tea and biscuits, sympathy, contact details given, help promises, the lot.
Now she can barely afford the train fare to get into London for treatment sessions and obviously is nervous of crowded spaces filled with people coughing.
But macmillan seems to have faded. Apart from her 80yr old parents, she’s on her own. And she’s frightened.

  • Hello

Thank you for your post. I am so sorry to read of your daughter's cancer and her lack of support. On the Community we do not have access to anyone's personal details so in that respect I can't help with her personal situation.

I can however give you this link to our Macmillan - Benefits and Financial Support page where you will find some useful information. Can I also suggest she calls our Support Line on 0808 808 00 00 (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday) when there will be an advisor available to chat.

I do hope this helps, please don't hesitate to get back to me if I can do anything else for you.

    Best wishes - Brian.
