My mum has had a lot of health problems over the past year and was taken into hospital 3 weeks ago whilst I was away on holiday. The hospital have diagnosed cancer and have done x-ray, CT scan, MRI scan and a biopsy. They were going to do an endoscopy but said they had enough info from the MRI. Biopsy taken about 8 or 9 days ago but advised that is has not identified the primary source of the cancer. Various masses have been found but that is about all we have been told. Over last few days, my mum's pain has increased significantly and there has been talk of referring to Macmillan about the possibility of going home (as I write this, just had a call to say a bed is being delivered to my mum's house this Thursday) though haven't had any discussion about this. My dad is 80 years old and would be her primary carer at home.
Frustrated, confused and not sure what to do next. Any thoughts or advice? Thank you.
Update: managed to see a consultant today and everything now much clearer. Unfortunately, it is now all a matter of time.
