Hi everyone, my husband has incurable lung cancer stage 4 adenocarcinoma which has spread to the lymph nodes, pericardial fluid, and base of skull as far as we know - he had a pericardial window surgery in June and has been having chemo and immunotherapy since July he’s now just had his fourth treatment after it has been deferred once for low neutrophils and last time for high ALT (291) reading on liver function tests, he had a ct-scan on Sunday everywhere from his neck to his pelvis.

he is now getting pain in his arms and hands and hip and feet, he’s putting weight on and eating well due to the steroids but doesn’t seem well at all sleeping more and has visual disturbances and gets confused easily

Does anyone know anything about why his ALT readings would be so high and what this could mean, his blood tests have also now address bone profile is this something I need to be concerned about

thank you for reading and for anyone who replies

  • Hi

I can't help with your questions but noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet.

I hope you don't mind me suggesting that you also join and post this in the lung cancer forum as you'll then connect directly with others who may have had a similar experience to your husband.

If you'd like to do this, just click on the link I've created and, once you've joined, you can start a new post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

It would be great if you could put something about your husband's diagnosis and treatment to date into your profile as it really helps others when replying to you and also when looking for someone on a similar pathway. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
