I know lots of children lose a parent, but these are mine and they're about to lose their Dad. I feel like their whole world is about to be upended and it will forever change who they are. It's terrifying.
Hi Raisinbagel
I am glad you have found our community and I hope we can help you be just a little bit more prepared for what is coming.
There is a guide on here preparing a child for loss that might be helpful and it can be worthwhile thinking of you own emotions too and if it helps remember you are welcome to ring the helpline as well as post on here - 0800 808 0000.
<<hugs>>
Steve
Keep strong and positive for your children. It is such a difficult time for you but you have to keep your strength up for your children. Your strength and courage through this is what your children will see. Sometimes they need some time to talk about it for them to understand what is going on. As hard as it may be for you to discuss this with them it is to help them with their mental health as well. Stay strong and take each day as it comes. Every day and moment is a blessing so make the most of what you can.
