Face to face support groups

Do you have a hospice nearby? we have been referred to them at our request - the hospital or GP can do this.  Ours have lots of things that you can access and a carers meet up twice month for a coffee and chat   - I haven’t actually been yet but am going to give it a try - my husband has incurable pancreatic cancer. I think speaking to others going through this is important as it’s a strange and scary experience for the whole family and I’m not sure anyone else really understands unless it’s happening to them too.  Good luck on your journey.

If you haven't already heard of the 'Carers in Hertfordshire' charity you might find their website a good place to find support groups and other local resources for carers. Alternatively you can give them a call on 01992 58 69 69.

Our Macmillan Support Line can also help you investigate support available to you, both locally and nationally. Our Support Line teams are available 7 days a week, 8am-8pm on freephone 0808 808 00 00, email or live webchat.
