Hi all,
We had a visit from the macmillan nurse last night, she said my mam was unconscious and only had hours left to live, she told us what would happen and that she would not wake up. They put a driver in for her medication and then left. Two hours later my mam suddenly woke up, she has been more awake today then she has the last few days and she’s able to talk again! We are completely baffled by this, anyone had any experience of this?
Hi Amyyyyyy101. I can only say when my Mum was in hospital with total organ failure (aged 86) a similar thing happened. My sister and i had been told by the nursing staff what would happen and she wouldn't wake up, just stay comfortable on medication. We took it in turn to be there. She did wake up, spoke a little and even ate a tiny portion of food. She did pass away peacefully a few days later.
It was a shock to both my sister and I as we had been prepared for her end but it was lovely to have her back briefly.
Sending hugs, B xx
