I am managing bit better since my two sisters landed here. But they released my mum from hospital after a fortnight on Friday. Sent her home with 13 diff. meds. And NO instructions at all. We were having to look up a YouTube video to work out how to administer morphine with a syringe. It's taken 3 of us the weekend to get on top of meds. But we're supporting each other through the chaos. We are very new to this game, after only a few weeks on the Cancer Rollercoaster. She's been diagnosed with inoperable pancreatic cancer and is awaiting endoscopic biopsy this week.

  • Hi and welcome to the online community

I'm glad to read that you're feeling better now that your sisters are able to provide support as well.

Your mum being sent home with no instructions about her medications sounds anything but ideal! I hope that by now she's spoken to her CNS (cancer nurse specialist) to make sure that everything is being taken when it should be.

You might also find joining the pancreatic cancer group helpful as there you'll be able to ask questions, share experiences and get support from people, or their families, with the same type of cancer. If you'd like to join the group clicking on the link I've created will take you straight there where you can join and post in the same way as you did here.

It would be great if you could pop something about your mum's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
