Hi All,
im really new to all this and don’t really know where to start. My husband was diagnosed with lung cancer and brain mets a few weeks ago. He’s just had a biopsy and spent a week in hospital due to a tear in his lung. We’ve been told it’s incurable but can be treated. He had a telephone conversation with a consultant and I think they’re looking at chemotherapy and radiotherapy. He’s currently on steroids to reduce the swelling on his brain. There’s so much information to take in. I’m so worried and scared about what’s going to happen, but also because I work full time how I’m going to cope with everything. Any advice would be much appreciated
Hi Vicky,
I know what you are going through, my mom was diagnosed 3 yeas ago and at the start of the year we were told it had spread to her brain. Do you know what type of lung cancer he has? The steroids have hugely reduced the swelling on the brain and as such a lot of the symptoms. What mg is he on now? Sending hugs
Hi, sorry for the slow reply. It’s all abit hectic with all the hospitals visits. He has non small cell. He currently on18mg twice a day. Been told today he will have 30days of radiotherapy and 3 weeks of chemotherapy. That’s for his lung cancer. We have an appointment tomorrow to see what they can do with the brain cancer. X
