Dads fighting hard

Hi everyone,

Been on various groups for a while but this is my first post. Been supporting my amazing dad through his throat cancer treatment for the past 6 months or so, and it’s fair to say he’s had a tough journey (several ICU visits and a multitude of blue light scares). Throughout all that he achieved 7 weeks of daily radio, 4 of chemo, 8 teeth out (plus a couple lost along the way and several lung infections and magnesium deficiencies) and maintained a positive spirit for the most part, probably for me and my family.

we know now that it has spread to his pelvic bone and are waiting on the results to find out how effective the treatment was and if it’s spread anywhere else, we find this out on the 25th March, my 30th birthday.

just reaching out and sharing before we know and asking everyone to give us a little wish/prayer/good thoughts!

Thank you!

  • Hello JuiceStool

Welcome to the forum, although I am sorry that you have found yourself here, you will find a great deal of support and understanding.

I am so sorry to read of the difficult journey that your Dad (and your family) have found yourselves on, it is nothing short of exhausting in my opinion, and my experience of caring for a person with a terminal diagnosis, has to not been as "full on" as yours seems to have been for the past six months.

How very brave your Dad seems to have been throughout this, and how very brave you are to share some of that journey here.

Almost every day, I put my thoughts, wishes and prayers out to the universe, and will certainly add your Dad (and you) to those, as difficult as these times are, there is always hope, and I certainly hope that the news you receive on your 30th Birthday is of a positive nature, (considering the situation)

    Stay strong..  (((Hugs)))
