Kids do find it hard not knowing what going to happen i tell them we are try to take everyday as it comes i find it hard sometimes to deal with things i always try to put a smile on my face
Hi Susan
It can be very difficult for children to understand what is happening when a parent is diagnosed with cancer and it's incurable. You might find this information on talking to children and teenagers about cancer that Macmillan have produced useful. It includes a link to riprap, a website for teenagers who have a parent with cancer, if your children are old enough.
You could also download, or send for, this booklet which you could then sit down and go through with your children.
Remember that you also need to look after yourself and I hope that you have people to support you as well.
Sending a big (((hug)))
Whatever cancer throws your way, we’re right there with you.
We’re here to provide physical, financial and emotional support.
