Evening All
In December following endoscopy we discovered my husband has oesophagus and stomach cancer advanced stage 4 by Xmas Eve following PET Scan we were told this has already spread around bone areas, prostrate, pubic area, chest muscle, sacrum and numerous lymph nodes and in membrane outside pancreas and liver - we are distraught like all of you having to face cancer taking over ur life and having to watch the pain and suffering of someone u love
we were informed new year that there is no cure and only chemo to aid life expectancy
one full cycle of chemo and due to bloods and now an infection it has stopped we have oncologist Monday and I’m scared what they will say
my husband is struggling massively with sickness no anti sickness seems to take this away he is barely eating and drinking and each day I see him slip further away from life and I feel powerless
the stomach tumour is blocking the junction at the bottom oesophagus preventing being able to eat and drink enough and the constant sickness
the only time he is not suffering is when he naps
I can’t cope with seeing him like this please has anyone experience with this type of cancer and constant sickness
xx
Hi and a warm welcome to the online community
I'm very sorry to hear about your husband's recent diagnosis and how much he's going through at the moment. It must be very hard for both of you and I can understand why you'd want to speak to others who have experience with the type of cancer he has.
I can see that you've joined the oesophagus cancer and stomach cancer groups and I'm sure if you post your questions in those groups you'll find people who can tell you about their experiences. Clicking on the links I've created will take you straight there where you could copy and paste your question from here into a new post there to save you typing it out again.
When you have a minute it would be really useful if could pop something about your husband's journey so far into your profile as it helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Edit Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
Sending a supportive (((hug)))
