Hi, thank you for allowing me to join, I am wanting to get some advice and gain some kind of knowledge and understanding about my mums condition. She has declined palliative chemotherapy so would like to understand how this will progress and the journey of symptoms and progression we will go through. X

My Mum also has sclc. She was diagnosed December 18 with it in her lung and lymph nodes and had chemo and radiotherapy. She has been stable from June 18, but we found out yesterday that its spread to her liver. They have offered her chemo, which she has accepted but it has only a 50% chance of success and we dont really know what they mean by success. Otherwise they said we are looking at about 3 months. She is extremely well at present but the oncologist said that she would very soon start to feel pain, lose appetite and feel sick. Also weight loss.

Hi. Sorry to hear about your mum. My dad has just been diagnosed with sclc which has spread to lymph nodes and thoracic spine. It’s hard not knowing what to expect. I can’t offer you any answers but I am here if you need support along your journey xx
