Great to read positive stories.
Hi and well done navigating over to our little corner.
Has your mum’s team said what type of Stem Cell Transplant she would have. Using her own Stem Cells (Auto) or using Stem Cells from a matched donor (Allo)?
Thehighlander mum's own stem cells they were collected before mum's 3rd cycle of MATrix treatment.
Thank you for that , the good thing about an Auto is her body will not see her cells going back in as an attack and try to kill them.
Has her team given a timetable for going into SCT and have they said what type of Conditioning (chemo/radiotherapy) they will use to kill off her immune system?
Thehighlander yes true which is a positive from the onset.. So grateful to Allah swt for his mercy and compassion.
No thorough timetable but mum has an appointment with her consultant at QE on 11th Feb so may know more then. I think it's LEAM. Not read around that yet.
Hi again,
This is a link about LEAM the final drug in LEAM is Melphalan. This is very strong chemo and some precautions need to be take so have a look at this thread Melphalan and Ice
You may also want to have a look at this very helpful thread Checklist for SCT Unit
Thehighlander thank you.. I will have a look. We'll know more nearer to the time and after the meeting with mum's consultant.
