To recap, I was doing fine at 2 years plus post-transplant. At my recent outpatients, they didn't like my blood counts, so I was called in for a bone marrow biopsy. The full results aren't back (they don't have the genetic profile yet, if that is the right term) but there are leukaemia cells there. The plan is that I go back in for 4-6 weeks and have some 'mild' chemo and some lymphocytes. They will see how I do on that, though they have to check first if I am fit enough, so ECG on Friday. Alternative is twice weekly visits to outpatients for maintenance treatment - I really don't fancy that at all. I felt consultant was cautiously optimistic that I wouldn't have to do the whole SCT cycle again.
Lots of packing to do.

Hi Tessa,
hmmmm, like you I wouldn’t be sure. Do ask if it could all be a complication of chemo? After all, you’ve had quite a lot now.....

Yes Tessa, this can be very confusing as all these haematological issues can have long reaching effects.
I have lived with Thoratic & Lumber Spinal Osteoarthritis for a number of years and it will be hard to differentiate between this and treatment.
My muscle wastage was rather bad and my legs would be in a lot of pain......... but the longer I went away from treatments and meds this all improved so let’s look for you and your team find the way to deal with this xx
Had two visitors today. One does have oesteoarthitis other is a chiropractor. Neither thought my symptoms sounded like OA to save me spelling it again. Able to get myself onto commode this afternoon so some progress.
Tessa
Hi Tessa,
I’m glad others agree that it doesn’t seem like OA! I really think you should directly ask whether this is Chemo-related.
hope things improve anyway......

Consultant visit today. Its not good news. Chemo hasnt killed any of the leukaemia so no point proceeding to transplant. They have started me on a maintenance drug and will give me something i have heard mentioned on this site beginning with A and ending in ab. I will have to get them to write it down next time. They will also look at the other drugs available. They say CART is not suitable for AML. So a different horizon to focus on
Tessa
Oh Tessa,
I am gutted, really hope this next drug helps.

Ah Tessa, your journey full of mystery continues, let’s look for your team to find the best and most effective route to navigate you in the right direction ((hugs))
Hi Tessa,
Sorry to hear. Sending big hugs.
