Hi hubby had 5 x 10 mins radiotherapy treatments over 5 days last week. On the iliac bone in the pelvis.

Is this likely to cause more urinating? He got very upset yesterday as couldnt get to the loo in time. But we were out for lunch. He left before me, as I needed shopping & walked in to him crying, saying he'd pee''d himself as unable to get to loo fast enough. I calmed him down & said, look we've all had near misses over the years ( non treatment related) just to try &:lighten the mood & not make him feel embarressed.

Hes fine today, but just wondered if this had happened to anyone else?

I may have posted this on anothet page, so apologies

  • Hi Tillyboo, I’m Tony one of the Online Champions, welcome to this forum,  unfortunately Radiotherapy as much as they focus the treatment on the particular site of the Cancer cells it has an habit of spreading well beyond that focus sight, when I had it on my mid chest for Oesophagus Cancer I specifically asked if it would effect my neck stoma and they said as best as they could do was no not really, unfortunately it did so he may have to be prepared for all sorts of changes whilst the treatment is progressing, anytime you or your partner have difficulties always speak with the Team as they will be best placed to answer your questions and help with any problems you both have

The following Book may help you both

Take care and also others may come on to your post and help if they have experienced the problem
