What do lymph nodes feel like if hit by radiation?

Hello,

I had radiotherapy to a clavicle about 18 months ago. I now can feel a hard nodule behind the sternoclavicular joint. Could have been there ages. Nothing picked up on CT scanning every 3 months but maybe it can’t be because of the position. I realise the cancer could have spread to it or could it be the result of high dose radiation to that bone?  Any one got experience of this or something similar. My oncologist is on holiday for a couple of weeks otherwise I ask her.

Thank you,

Sparkling heart

  • Hi

I can't answer your question but I noticed that your post hadn't had any replies yet.

Although you said you can't ask your oncologist because she's on holiday could you speak to your CNS? If not you could post your question in the ask a nurse section of the online community and one of the specialist nurses will aim to reply within 3 working days.
