As the title asks shouldi get the flu jab if starting radiotherapy to the skin. This will start on one area first then total body skin radiotherapy. I was not told any information on this subject at the hospital and was just thinking about it. I have never had the flu jab before and avoided it as so many others over the last few years i know were feeling very flu ish after getting the jab.

Thanks in advance for taking the time to read or possibly responding.

  • Hi

I don't know the answer to your question but I noticed that you hadn't had any replies. As this group is fairly quiet you might be more likely to get a response if you post this in the T-cell lymphomas group, which I see you're a member of.

Another place where you could ask this question would be in the ask a nurse section and one of the specialist nurses will respond within 2 working days.

    Hi Dipole Antenna

I am halfway through radiotherapy to the skin and have a flu jab booked for 10 December. I was advised to have this by my radiotherapy team.

    I hope this helps.

Hello and thank you for the reply and advice on getting the flu jab. I have decided I will do the same and book an appointment soon, I reckon it's best in my case as the immune system is low.

    Thanks again and take care
