Hi
I’ve never joined anything like this but I’ve found myself coming on here most days since my diagnosis. I have breast cancer which has spread to my lymph nodes abdomen and I found out this week also my bones.
I’m only 38 and to be honest I’m not sure what to expect I’ve just sort of taken things in my stride with a what will be attitude but in reality I’m absolutely petrified. I darent ask the question of how long do I have left as I’m aware that my cancer can’t be cured but only controlled.
Ive just had my 4th week of pactilaxil and will then be having hormone therapy. I’m currently suffering badly with ascities and am due to have my 4th drain next week I actually look 8months pregnant!! Just wanted to say hi really and now I’ve registered can reply to other peoples threads and ask questions I may have.

Hi and a very warm welcome to the online community
A lot of us 'lurk' before actually joining the community but I'm sure that now you have you'll find it a great place to belong to.
As you know the online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the secondary breast cancer group which is a great place to ask questions, share experiences and get support.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
x
