Cant believe I’m searching these boards again. Cancer loves my family, the gift that keeps on giving.
mum just had biopsy on neck lump. Survived lung cancer 9 years ago. Is this likely to be secondary after 9 years or a new primary cancer ?
Scans all booked for next week but had an X-ray for a chest infection a couple of weeks ago and there’s fluid surrounding her chest.
Hi I hate cancer and I think we can all agree with the sentiment of your username!
I'm sorry to read that your mum has just had a biopsy of a lump on her neck and it's natural to wonder if this is a new cancer or a secondary from her lung cancer. Hopefully you won't have too long to wait to hear after her scans next week.
As the online community is divided up into different support groups I'm going to recommend that you join the family and friends group which is a safe place to share your emotions with others who have a family member dealing with cancer or a possible cancer diagnosis.
When you've found out if she is dealing with a new cancer or a secondary you could then join a cancer specific group where you can ask questions and share experiences with others who have that type of cancer.
To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.
It would be great if you could pop something about your mum's journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.
If you have any difficulty navigating the community just drop me a reply and I'll be pleased to help.
