Hi All

im new here and just wondering if anyone had a similar experience to myself.

2016 I had an abnormal smear had the LLETZ procedure and biopsy and cells came back CIN3. I had one clear smear and was put back onto 3 yearly.

2020 November I had another abnormal smear grading CIN2 and another LLETZ procedure done February 2021. I received a letter saying no further CIN’s and my results were being sent to a meeting and to wait for a letter to let me know what further treatment is needed.

Just wondering if anyone has had anything similar to this. The not knowing what this meeting is for if driving me crazy.

Thank you in advance x

  • Hi  and a very warm welcome to the online community. I'm sorry to read that you have had abnormal smears and are awaiting to hear if you need any further treatment. We all agree here the waiting on tests results is soul destroying.

The online community is divided up into different support groups so I'm going to recommend that you join the Cervical cancer forum where you can ask questions, share experiences and get support from others making the same journey. Hopefully you'll get some answers.

To join just click on the link I've created and then choose 'click to join' or 'join' (depending on the device you're using) on the page that opens. You can then introduce yourself and post in the same way as you did here and join in with existing conversations by clicking on 'reply'.

When you have a minute, it would be great if you could pop something about your journey so far into your profile as it really helps others when answering or looking for someone with a similar diagnosis. It also means that you don't have to keep repeating yourself. To do this click on your username and then select 'Profile'. You can amend it at any time and if you're not sure what to write you can take a look at mine by clicking on my username.

It’s always good to talk and the Macmillan Support Services provides lots of information, support, financial guidance or just a listening ear. It's free to call on 0808 808 00 00  8am to 8pm, 7 days a week. Have a look to see what is available by Clicking here .

There is also an Ask an Expert section, but you should allow two working days for replies from our expert team.

To find information covering diagnosis, treatments and pages covering most types of cancers can be found on our Online Information and Support Section
